'Toys through Time'
As part of our toys WAU topic we travelled to the Armagh County Museum. We got to look at and play with lots of old toys e.g. wind up cars, Jacob's ladders, marbles, teddy bears etc. We discussed similarities and differences between old and new toys. We noticed that toys in the past were made of different materials and were more likely to be homemade. We also learnt that children only got new toys on special occasions like Christmas or their birthday. We then got to make our very own toys to take home. Some of the children made a toy aeroplane, while other children made a little doll.
The main thing we learnt was that even though some of the toys were made a long time ago they are still lots of fun to play with today!
